I am Evelien and I am 30 years old. I live with my friend Niels in Haarlem and work at Reade, an institution for rehabilitation and rheumatology in Amsterdam, as a business economics consultant. I spend my spare time running, racing, cooking and playing saxophone. And of course to Mission Summit. I also like to do nice things with my family and friends.

Why are you committed to Mission Summit?

Since my friend Niels was told in 2010 that he has MS, we are both actively involved in the fight against MS. In 2011, together with friends, we founded Mission Summit and since then, with Mission Summit, we do our utmost to raise as much money as possible for scientific research with the hope that the terrible disease will end.

What do you do within the team?

I am on the board of Stichting Mission Summit as secretary. I plan the meetings, make the agenda and minutes and help with the organization of events.

Are you going to climb mountains yourself?

I climbed Kilimanjaro in 2011 with team Mission Summit and that was a fantastic experience. In 2016 I was part of the Support Team, which guided Niels to Basecamp of Mount Everest. Furthermore I stay on the ground and I support the participants who will move their mountains later. I know how nice that is!
